About Bob

I thought it would be helpful for you to have the opportunity to understand the experience I’ve had that I drew on to develop the insights that I’ve included on this website.

I have both a Masters and a PhD degree in Engineering as well as a Masters in Human Resources and Organizational Development. I have been the project lead on numerous projects for large companies in California such as the General Electric nuclear power division. In 1975 my wife and I decided to leave our professional jobs and focus on a different future for our lives. We developed a residential retreat center in the UK located in a peaceful natural valley. We facilitated the center for 6 years and focused on topics such as “Renew Yourself and Help Renew the Planet.”

We returned to California in 1981 to raise a family. I worked back at General Electric for a few years and then became a professor in the College of Engineering at San Jose State University for 12 years. I led a “process improvement” research center and taught graduate courses in organizational and project management. In addition to teaching in the University, I taught management courses in many Silicon Valley companies, including Apple Computer, Intel and Lockheed Martin. I also taught management courses abroad including at “Peking University” the premier university in China and at “Tsinghua” the premier technical university in China.

For the last 25 years I have been a partner in the Organizational Learning Center, helping organizations achieve improved project performance, organizational prosperity, quality of working life, self-management, and employee engagement.
